They are rich in cartilage, calcium, and protein, while containing no bones that could splinter, making them suitable for dogs of all ages – including puppies. Calcium is an essential factor for healthy bones and teeth. Young, growing dogs and pregnant dogs in particular have an increased need for calcium. If your dog does not consume enough calcium through its diet, its skeletal system can suffer, as the body draws calcium from the bones to compensate for deficiencies elsewhere.
