Getting started

  1. 1Make the switch in one go. Leave out one meal, ideally the evening one, then serve Fidelis at the next.
  2. 2Weigh out the right amount. Adult dogs need roughly 1–1.5% of their body weight a day, so a 15kg dog needs about 150–225g. The full feeding guide is below.
  3. 3Pour, serve, reseal. No soaking needed. Close the ziplock afterwards and keep the bag somewhere cool and dry. Fresh water should always be on hand.

Free UK delivery over £49. Order by 2pm, Monday to Friday, and we aim to dispatch the same day.

Which ingredients do we use & why?

Salmon (80%)
Regular consumption of salmon can also reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks in dogs. Salmon provides valuable omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for your furry friend. Omega-3 promotes skin and coat health, strengthens the immune system, and can enhance brain function. Additionally, it provides your dog with vitamins A, B6, B12, D, and E. It also delivers minerals such as niacin, pantothenic acid, calcium, magnesium, iodine, and selenium. These strengthen, among other things, his skeleton and muscles.

Carrots (7%)
In addition to energy, fibre and low calories, carrots are healthy because they are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin A and biotin are particularly worth mentioning here. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body.

Apples (4%)
Apples are suitable for a healthy diet because they contain many vitamins, minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, pectins and polyphenols.

Peas (3%)
Peas contain many vitamins. In addition to beta-carotene, peas are particularly rich in B vitamins and also contain vitamin C. Peas also score highly in terms of minerals: Magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc make them a particularly healthy vegetable side dish.

Courgette (3%)
Courgettes have a particularly valuable content of calcium, magnesium, iron, B vitamins, vitamin A and vitamin C. They have very few calories and are therefore a light but vitamin and mineral-rich ingredient in vegetable cuisine.

Salmon Oil (1.5%)
Salmon oil is an important source of fatty acids, particularly omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. The addition of salmon oil can have some decisive effects that ensure a long and healthy life for your furry friend, e.g. a better coat or faster healing of skin diseases.

Rosehip (0.5%)
In addition to vitamin C, rosehips also contain numerous other ingredients that have a positive effect on health. These include: Fruit acids, essential oils, pectins, tannins, silicic acid, the antioxidants lycopene and flavonoids, the vitamins provitamin A, vitamin B1 and B2 as well as vitamin E, the minerals zinc, copper, sodium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and magnesium.

Algae Lime (0.5%)
Algae lime consists of deposits of red algae. It contains mainly calcium carbonate, as well as magnesium carbonate and trace elements (boron, iodine, silicic acid) and thus prevents a deficiency of minerals and trace elements. The high calcium content supports the stability of bones and teeth and balances out the excess phosphorus from meat feeding, which can otherwise lead to kidney problems.

Blueberries (0.2%)
Blueberries are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. They also have less fruit sugar than other fruits and are therefore also suitable for dogs with diabetes. They are full of vitamins C, A, B, and E and contain a high proportion of minerals such as calcium, potassium, and phosphorus.

Brewer's Yeast (0.2%)
Brewer's yeast contains lots of vitamins and minerals and is also a good source of protein. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to keep blood sugar levels constant.

Seaweed Powder (0.1%)
Seaweed meal contains many minerals such as zinc and carotenoids which support the skin metabolism and the pigmentation of the coat, nose and paw pads. The amino acid lysine it contains optimises feed conversion; cellulose and mannitol support digestion.

Daily portions

Work out your dog's daily amount from their body weight. Puppies up to 8 months need around 3–4% a day, and adult dogs of any size need around 1–1.5%.

Body weight Daily amount
5kg puppy (under 8 months) 150–200g
5kg adult 50–75g
10kg adult 100–150g
15kg adult 150–225g
20kg adult 200–300g
30kg adult 300–450g
40kg adult 400–600g

For example, a 20kg dog fed at 1% would need 200g a day.

These figures are a starting point for healthy, active dogs that haven't been neutered. Age, breed and activity level can change what your dog needs by as much as 50%, so keep an eye on their shape and adjust the portion up or down to keep them at a healthy weight.

The vet behind our recipes

Is everything in there?

Our recipes were created with holistic vet Anita Kröger, founder of the Centre for Canine Health. Alongside nutritional advice, her work focuses on chronic conditions, particularly intolerances, allergies and gastrointestinal problems.

She believes a natural, varied and species-appropriate diet is central to a long, healthy life for dogs, which is why variety, including a fish option like this one, matters to us.

Is it suitable for sensitive dogs?

Salmon is the only animal protein in this menu, so there's no chicken, beef or other meat. That makes it a good option for dogs who don't get on with meat proteins, or as a fish day in a rotation.

There are no grains such as rice or wheat in the recipe. It does include peas, brewer's yeast and guar gum, so check the ingredients if your dog is sensitive to any of these.

If your dog has a diagnosed allergy, a health condition or a vet-prescribed diet, check with your vet before changing their food.

Changing over from another food

We suggest making the change straight away rather than mixing foods. Simply skip a meal, ideally in the evening, and serve Fidelis at the next mealtime.

Stay on this one flavour for the first 7 days while your dog's tummy gets used to it. From around two weeks in, you can start alternating with our other flavours for extra variety.

Serving & keeping it fresh

To serve: weigh out your dog's portion, pour it into the bowl and that's it. There's no need to soak it first. Make sure there's always a bowl of fresh water nearby.

To store: keep the bag out of direct sunlight and away from heat and damp. Once opened, press the ziplock shut and it will stay fresh for several weeks.

How air-drying works

Most conventional dry foods are mass-produced from ingredients like animal meals and vegetable by-products, then extruded at high temperatures. We take a different route: our menus are gently air-dried in our own factory, using a modern take on meat preservation techniques that go back centuries.

Because the process is gentle and we start with fresh fish, vegetables, fruit and oils, the nutrients already in those ingredients are kept, so we don't need to add artificial vitamins.

No high temperatures, no animal meals, no vegetable by-products, no fillers, no artificial vitamin additives, no extrusion, no sterilised cans.

What you get is a dry food that keeps the goodness of fresh ingredients, and tastes and smells as good as it looks. It brings together the best of raw and fresh feeding with the safe convenience of dry food, ideal for travelling or when fridge space is tight.

My dog liked them but there was a problem

My dog liked them but there was a problem. As she is only 8kg, she found the pieces too big and would drop them. When I chopped them up she ate them happily. I am afraid I am not predated to chop them up every time- it takes too long!

Air Dried Menu questions

Everything you need to know about the Air Dried Salmon Menu and the rest of our Air Dried Menus.

About the food

What makes air-dried food different from kibble?

Conventional dry food is usually mass-produced from animal meals and vegetable by-products and extruded at high temperatures. Our menus are gently air-dried in our own factory, using only fresh meat, offal, vegetables, fruit and oils.

There's no extrusion, no animal meal, no fillers and no artificial vitamins or additives. The nutrients come straight from the original fresh ingredients.

What goes into each menu?

Every menu is made from around 80% meat and offal, combined with vegetables, fruit, salmon oil and natural minerals such as algae lime, rosehip and seaweed meal. Each product page lists the full composition and analytical constituents.

How is it different from your Fresh Menus?

We use the same healthy, fresh ingredients as our Fresh Menus. The Air Dried Menus are a convenient alternative for feeding on the go or if you don't have fridge space: simply portion and serve.

Who developed the recipes?

Our menus were developed with Anita Kröger, a holistic vet and founder of the Centre for Canine Health, who specialises in intolerances, allergies and digestive problems.

Feeding

How much should I feed?

As a starting point, feed about 1–1.5% of your dog's body weight a day, and around 3–4% for puppies up to 8 months. For example, a 20kg dog at 1% needs about 200g a day.

These are guidelines for healthy, active, non-neutered dogs. Needs can vary by up to 50% with age, breed and activity, so adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight.

How do I switch my dog to Air Dried?

We recommend switching straight away: skip one meal (ideally in the evening) and start with our food at the next one.

Feed a single flavour for the first 7 days so your dog's stomach can adjust. After two weeks, you can alternate between flavours.

Do I need to soak it?

No. Just open the bag, pour the right amount into the bowl and serve. Always make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water available.

Is it a complete food?

Our Air Dried Menus are labelled as a complementary feed for dogs. Check the feeding information on each product page, and speak to your vet if you're unsure how to build it into your dog's diet.

Choosing & storing

My dog has allergies. Which menu should I choose?

Each menu is named after its main protein, so it's easy to avoid one your dog reacts to. Our lamb and horse menus are popular hypoallergenic choices. Check the full ingredients on each product page.

If your dog has a diagnosed allergy or a medical condition, speak to your vet before switching.

Which bag sizes are available?

Each menu comes in 1kg, 2.5kg and 5kg bags, so you can choose the size that suits your dog.

How should I store it?

Keep the bag away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. No fridge needed.

How long does it keep once opened?

Reseal the bag with the ziplock closure and it will keep for several weeks.

Delivery & orders

How much is delivery?

Standard (2–4 working days): £4.99, or free on orders over £49.
Express (1–2 working days): £7.99, or £3.99 on orders over £49.

When will my order be dispatched?

Order by 2pm, Monday to Friday, and we aim to dispatch the same day.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across the whole of the UK, including the Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands, with no extra charge.

Can I return my order?

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. For health and hygiene reasons, bags must be unopened with the seal intact. If anything arrives faulty or damaged, get in touch and we'll put it right.
