Goose with butternut squash, figs and cardamom, our Christmas menu, gently cooked in our own kitchen and sealed in glass. A festive feast your dog won't forget in a hurry.

Good food and festive meals are part of Christmas, and our dogs deserve a treat too. Cooked goose makes up 70% of every jar, with butternut squash, sweet potato, Jerusalem artichoke, apple, pear and figs, plus linseed oil, natural minerals and a pinch of cardamom for a festive flavour. The goose is slowly and gently cooked at low temperatures, and the blanched veg and fruit are mixed in afterwards so more of the flavour and nutrients stay in. It's cupboard-stable for 12 months with no preservatives.

Complete feed for dogs.

How much to feed

As a starting point, feed about 2.5–3% of your dog's body weight a day, and around 4.5% for puppies up to 8 months. For example, a 20kg dog fed 2.5% of its body weight needs 500g a day. Split it across two meals if that suits your routine.

Dog Per day 400g jars
5kg puppy (under 8 months) about 225g just over ½ jar
5kg dog 125–150g about ⅓ jar
10kg dog 250–300g ⅔–¾ jar
15kg dog 375–450g about 1 jar
20kg dog 500–600g 1¼–1½ jars
30kg dog 750–900g 2–2¼ jars
40kg dog 1,000–1,200g 2½–3 jars

These amounts are for healthy, normally active dogs that haven't been neutered. Needs can vary by up to 50% with age, breed and activity, so use them as a guide and adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight. If you're feeding it alongside another food, reduce both in proportion.

Developed with a vet

Our menus were developed with Anita Kröger, a vet specialising in healthy dog nutrition and founder of the Centre for Canine Health. Her ideas and experience have shaped the recipes and range at Fidelis, and she and her team recommend our products.

Her approach is simple: a natural, varied, species-appropriate diet is one of the best things you can do for your dog's long-term health, with a stronger immune system, a shiny coat, fewer digestive problems and more vitality.

Sensitive tummies & allergies

This menu uses goose as its only animal protein, with no chicken and no grains.

It does contain sweet potato, Jerusalem artichoke, brewer's yeast and linseed oil, as well as cardamom, so check the full ingredient list if your dog reacts to any of these.

If your dog has a diagnosed allergy or a medical condition, or is on a special diet prescribed by your vet, speak to your vet before switching.

Switching to Fidelis

Switch gradually over 5–7 days. Start with a small amount of Fresh Menu mixed into your dog's usual food, then increase it a little each day until you're feeding Fresh Menu on its own.

Stick to one flavour for the first 7–14 days so your dog's digestion can adjust. After that, you can rotate between flavours for more variety. Some dogs are happy with every flavour from day one, so let your dog's digestion and stools be your guide.

A slightly softer stool for the first few days is normal while your dog gets used to fresher food. If it carries on, slow the switch down.

Mixing with dry food? Lots of owners use Fresh Menu as a topper. Just reduce both foods in proportion so your dog isn't overfed.

Serving & storage

Unopened: keep in a cool, dry cupboard for at least 12 months. No fridge or freezer needed. See the best-before date on the lid.

Serving: open, spoon into the bowl and serve at room temperature. To warm it, transfer it to a bowl first (never microwave the glass jar) and check it isn't hot.

Once opened: reseal, refrigerate and use within 3–4 days. There are no preservatives, so treat it like any other fresh food.

Why glass? No metal or coating residues can get into the food, which is why baby food comes in jars too. The jars reseal, so there's no smelly open tin in the fridge, and the food smells fresh rather than like typical tinned food.

Where and how it's made

Every jar is made with love and care by our experienced kitchen team, using only fresh, high-quality, human-grade ingredients.

The finest goose is cooked slowly and gently at low temperatures. Only then do we mix in the figs, blanched vegetables such as butternut squash, sweet potato and Jerusalem artichoke, and juicy apples and pears. Linseed oil, rosehip, algae lime, seaweed meal and brewer's yeast go in too, with a pinch of cardamom for that Christmas flavour.

Because the meat is pre-cooked, the jars can be sterilised at lower temperatures for less time. That keeps the meat in chunks, avoids artificial binders and keeps it shelf-stable without preservatives.

Is it really complete? Yes. Our Goose with Butternut Squash, Figs and Cardamom is a complete feed, so you can feed it on its own every day.

Fresh Menu questions

Everything you need to know about feeding Fidelis Fresh Menus.

About Fresh Menu

What is a Fidelis Fresh Menu?

A complete, balanced meal for dogs made with 70% fresh meat and offal, plus vegetables, fruit, natural minerals and quality oils. It's gently steam-cooked in our own kitchen and sealed in a glass jar.

You'll see real chunks of meat and bite-sized veg, not pellets or paste.

Is it a complete food?

Yes. Every Fresh Menu is a complete feed, so you can feed it on its own every day. Most of the nutrients come straight from the fresh ingredients, with a small top-up of vitamin D and trace minerals to make sure each recipe is fully balanced.

You can also use it as a topper to make dry food more exciting.

How is it cooked?

We dice the meat and only lightly mince it, so it keeps its natural chunks. The meat is steam-cooked at 90°C, and the veg and fruit are only blanched to protect heat-sensitive vitamins. Oils, herbs and natural minerals go in at the end.

Every jar is made in our own kitchen using fresh, human-grade ingredients sourced from Europe.

Who developed the recipes?

Our menus were developed with Anita Kröger, a holistic vet and founder of the Centre for Canine Health, who specialises in intolerances, allergies and digestive problems.

Feeding

How much should I feed my dog?

As a starting point, feed about 2–3% of your dog's body weight a day if they weigh up to 15kg, 2–2.5% if they're over 15kg, and around 4% for puppies up to 8 months.

A 10kg dog needs around half a 400g jar a day. Needs vary with age, breed, activity and neutering, so adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight. Our feeding guide above works it out for you.

How do I switch my dog to Fresh Menu?

Switch gradually over 5–7 days. Mix a little Fresh Menu into your dog's usual food and increase it each day until you're feeding Fresh Menu on its own.

Stick to one flavour for the first 7–14 days, then rotate for variety. A slightly softer stool for the first few days is normal. If it carries on, slow the switch down.

Is it suitable for dogs with sensitive tummies or allergies?

Many owners choose Fresh Menu for dogs with sensitive tummies. Every recipe is different, so check the full ingredient list on each menu if your dog reacts to anything.

If your dog has a diagnosed allergy or medical condition, or is on a diet prescribed by your vet, speak to your vet before switching.

How should I serve it?

Open the jar, spoon it into the bowl and serve at room temperature. To warm it, move it to a bowl first (never microwave the glass jar) and check it isn't hot.

Storage & packaging

Does it need to go in the fridge?

Not until it's opened. Unopened jars keep in a cool, dry cupboard for up to 12 months, with no fridge or freezer needed. Check the best-before date on the lid.

How long does it keep once opened?

Reseal the jar, keep it in the fridge and use within 3–4 days. There are no preservatives, so treat it like any other fresh food.

How does it last 12 months without preservatives?

After cooking, each jar is sealed and sterilised at 120°C, just like a jar of pasta sauce or baby food. That's what keeps it shelf-stable with no artificial preservatives.

Why glass jars?

Glass doesn't affect the taste, leaves no metal or plastic residues, reseals easily and is simple to recycle. Just rinse the jar and put it in your glass recycling, and check your council's guidance for the lid.

Delivery & orders

How much is delivery and how fast is it?

Standard (2–4 working days): £4.99, or free on orders of £49 and over.
Express (1–2 working days): £7.99, or £3.99 on orders of £49 and over.

Order before 2pm, Monday to Friday, and we aim to dispatch the same day.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to the whole of the UK, including the Scottish Highlands, the Scottish Islands and the Channel Islands, with no extra charge for remote areas.

How long does a box last?

Jars come in boxes of 6. A 20kg dog eats roughly one jar a day, so a box lasts about 6 days. A 10kg dog eats about half a jar a day, so a box lasts around 2 weeks.

Can I return my order?

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. For health and hygiene reasons, jars must be unopened with the seal intact. If anything arrives faulty or damaged, get in touch and we'll put it right.

Still have a question? Email us at hello@fidelisdog.co.uk and we'll be happy to help.
