Getting started

  1. 1Swap over at the next meal. No need for a gradual mix. Skip one meal (the evening one works best) and start Fidelis at the following meal.
  2. 2Portion by body weight. Most adult dogs need around 1–1.5% of their weight each day, so a 30kg dog needs about 300–450g. See the full feeding guide below.
  3. 3Keep the bag sealed. Zip it closed after each meal and store away from sun, heat and damp. Always leave out plenty of fresh water.

Complementary feed for dogs.

Which ingredients do we use & why?

Beef Meat (57%)
Beef contains plenty of biotin, which has a positive effect on metabolism and is good for the coat and skin of your dog. Additionally, beef provides niacin, which plays a crucial role in energy supply, skin regeneration, and nerve health. Furthermore, beef contains vitamin B12 and iron, which are essential for oxygen transport and blood formation.

Beef Hearts (20%)
Beef heart consists mainly of muscles. Due to its high protein content, beef heart is suitable for all dogs, including pregnant females, puppies, and seniors. The fat content serves as a flavor carrier, a source of energy, and supports the absorption of important vitamins. Additionally, it provides high-quality biotin and potassium.

Beef Liver (3%)
Beef liver contains larger amounts of vitamin A, B1, B2, B12, C, and D, as well as iron. Liver is relatively low in fat and rich in protein, making it generally well tolerated.

Sweet Potatoes (5%)
According to the American non-profit organisation Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), sweet potatoes are considered to be the healthiest vegetable of all. The greatest benefits of sweet potatoes are their high content of phytochemicals, which protect against free radicals. They are a source of minerals and vitamins and contain a lot of high-quality fibre.

Carrots (4%)
In addition to energy, fibre and low calories, carrots are healthy because they are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin A and biotin are particularly worth mentioning here. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body.

Apples (3.5%)
Apples are suitable for a healthy diet because they contain many vitamins, minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, pectins and polyphenols.

Peas (2%)
Peas contain many vitamins. In addition to beta-carotene, peas are particularly rich in B vitamins and also contain vitamin C. Peas also score highly in terms of minerals: Magnesium, iron, calcium and zinc make them a particularly healthy vegetable side dish.

Broccoli (2%)
Broccoli contains some vitamins in particularly high concentrations: vitamin C, vitamin K and beta-carotene. Broccoli is also much better than many other vegetables when it comes to minerals. For example, broccoli provides significant amounts of calcium, iron and copper.

Salmon Oil (2%)
Salmon oil is an important source of fatty acids, particularly omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. The addition of salmon oil can have some decisive effects that ensure a long and healthy life for your furry friend, e.g. a better coat or faster healing of skin diseases.

Rosehip (0.5%)
In addition to vitamin C, rosehips also contain numerous other ingredients that have a positive effect on health. These include: Fruit acids, essential oils, pectins, tannins, silicic acid, the antioxidants lycopene and flavonoids, the vitamins provitamin A, vitamin B1 and B2 as well as vitamin E, the minerals zinc, copper, sodium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and magnesium.

Algae Lime (0.5%)
Algae lime consists of deposits of red algae. It contains mainly calcium carbonate, as well as magnesium carbonate and trace elements (boron, iodine, silicic acid) and thus prevents a deficiency of minerals and trace elements. The high calcium content supports the stability of bones and teeth and balances out the excess phosphorus from meat feeding, which can otherwise lead to kidney problems.

Blueberries (0.2%)
Blueberries are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. They also have less fruit sugar than other fruits and are therefore also suitable for dogs with diabetes. They are full of vitamins C, A, B, and E and contain a high proportion of minerals such as calcium, potassium, and phosphorus.

Brewer's Yeast (0.2%)
Brewer's yeast contains lots of vitamins and minerals and is also a good source of protein. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to keep blood sugar levels constant.

Seaweed Powder (0.1%)
Seaweed meal contains many minerals such as zinc and carotenoids which support the skin metabolism and the pigmentation of the coat, nose and paw pads. The amino acid lysine it contains optimises feed conversion; cellulose and mannitol support digestion.

Feeding amounts

Base the daily amount on how much your dog weighs:

Puppies (up to 8 months): roughly 3–4% of body weight
Adult dogs, small or large: roughly 1–1.5% of body weight

Your dog Food per day
5kg puppy (under 8 months) 150–200g
5kg dog 50–75g
10kg dog 100–150g
15kg dog 150–225g
20kg dog 200–300g
30kg dog 300–450g
40kg dog 400–600g

Quick check: 20kg × 1% = 200g a day.

The guide assumes a healthy, active dog that hasn't been neutered. Every dog is different, and age, breed or how active they are can shift their needs by up to 50%. If your dog starts to gain weight, cut back slightly. If they're getting lean, add a little more.

Created with a holistic vet

Is everything in there?

Anita Kröger is a holistic vet and the founder of the Centre for Canine Health. As well as giving medical nutrition advice, she treats chronic illness, with a particular focus on intolerances, allergies and gut conditions.

In holistic veterinary medicine, diet is seen as one of the biggest factors in how long and how well a dog lives. Her view is that food should be natural, varied and right for the species, and that thinking shapes every Fidelis recipe.

Allergies & intolerances

The meat in this menu is all beef: beef muscle meat, beef hearts and beef liver. There's no chicken, and no grains such as rice or wheat.

Please note it also contains salmon oil, so it isn't fish-free. It includes peas, broccoli, sweet potato and brewer's yeast too, so take a look at the full ingredient list if your dog is sensitive to any of these.

For dogs with a diagnosed allergy, an ongoing health condition or a prescription diet, talk to your vet before making any changes.

Moving your dog onto Fidelis

No slow transition needed. We recommend a clean switch: miss out one meal (evening is best) and give Fidelis at the next.

For the first week, feed just this one flavour so your dog's digestion has time to settle. Once two weeks have passed, feel free to mix things up by alternating between flavours.

Preparing & storing

Preparing: nothing to it. Open the bag, pour the right amount into your dog's bowl and serve. Soaking isn't necessary, but do keep fresh water available at all times.

Storing: find a spot away from direct sun, heat and moisture. The ziplock closure lets you reseal the bag after every meal, and an opened bag will keep for several weeks.

What makes air-dried different?

Conventional dry food is usually mass-produced from animal meals and vegetable by-products, then pushed through an extruder at high temperatures. Our menus are made differently: they're gently air-dried in our own factory, using a modern version of traditional methods that have preserved meat for centuries.

Starting with fresh beef, offal, vegetables, fruit and oils, and drying them gently, means the nutrients in those ingredients are preserved. That's why we don't need to add artificial vitamins.

No high temperatures, no animal meals, no vegetable by-products, no fillers, no artificial vitamin additives, no extrusion, no sterilised cans.

The end result is a healthy dry food that keeps the nutrients of the fresh ingredients and tastes and smells as good as it looks. It's our way of combining the benefits of raw and fresh feeding with the safety and ease of dry food. Simply portion and serve.

Air Dried Menu questions

Everything you need to know about the Air Dried Beef Menu and the rest of our Air Dried Menus.

About the food

What makes air-dried food different from kibble?

Conventional dry food is usually mass-produced from animal meals and vegetable by-products and extruded at high temperatures. Our menus are gently air-dried in our own factory, using only fresh meat, offal, vegetables, fruit and oils.

There's no extrusion, no animal meal, no fillers and no artificial vitamins or additives. The nutrients come straight from the original fresh ingredients.

What goes into each menu?

Every menu is made from around 80% meat and offal, combined with vegetables, fruit, salmon oil and natural minerals such as algae lime, rosehip and seaweed meal. Each product page lists the full composition and analytical constituents.

How is it different from your Fresh Menus?

We use the same healthy, fresh ingredients as our Fresh Menus. The Air Dried Menus are a convenient alternative for feeding on the go or if you don't have fridge space: simply portion and serve.

Who developed the recipes?

Our menus were developed with Anita Kröger, a holistic vet and founder of the Centre for Canine Health, who specialises in intolerances, allergies and digestive problems.

Feeding

How much should I feed?

As a starting point, feed about 1–1.5% of your dog's body weight a day, and around 3–4% for puppies up to 8 months. For example, a 20kg dog at 1% needs about 200g a day.

These are guidelines for healthy, active, non-neutered dogs. Needs can vary by up to 50% with age, breed and activity, so adjust to keep your dog at a healthy weight.

How do I switch my dog to Air Dried?

We recommend switching straight away: skip one meal (ideally in the evening) and start with our food at the next one.

Feed a single flavour for the first 7 days so your dog's stomach can adjust. After two weeks, you can alternate between flavours.

Do I need to soak it?

No. Just open the bag, pour the right amount into the bowl and serve. Always make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water available.

Is it a complete food?

Our Air Dried Menus are labelled as a complementary feed for dogs. Check the feeding information on each product page, and speak to your vet if you're unsure how to build it into your dog's diet.

Choosing & storing

My dog has allergies. Which menu should I choose?

Each menu is named after its main protein, so it's easy to avoid one your dog reacts to. Our lamb and horse menus are popular hypoallergenic choices. Check the full ingredients on each product page.

If your dog has a diagnosed allergy or a medical condition, speak to your vet before switching.

Which bag sizes are available?

Each menu comes in 1kg, 2.5kg and 5kg bags, so you can choose the size that suits your dog.

How should I store it?

Keep the bag away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. No fridge needed.

How long does it keep once opened?

Reseal the bag with the ziplock closure and it will keep for several weeks.

Delivery & orders

How much is delivery?

Standard (2–4 working days): £4.99, or free on orders over £49.
Express (1–2 working days): £7.99, or £3.99 on orders over £49.

When will my order be dispatched?

Order by 2pm, Monday to Friday, and we aim to dispatch the same day.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across the whole of the UK, including the Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands, with no extra charge.

Can I return my order?

You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. For health and hygiene reasons, bags must be unopened with the seal intact. If anything arrives faulty or damaged, get in touch and we'll put it right.
