Why should I feed fresh food?
Natural, species-appropriate nutrition made from high-quality, unprocessed ingredients with a high density of vital nutrients is the best basis for your dog's health. More and more evidence supports the benefits of fresh food and highlights the risks of industrial manufacturing processes.
Fidelis uses only market-fresh meat, offal, vegetables and fruit, natural minerals and high-quality oils. Essential nutrients come directly from the original ingredients, which the body absorbs far better than the artificial vitamins added to most commercial foods.
Dogs benefit from a stronger immune system, fewer allergies, a glossy coat, healthier skin, fewer digestive issues, less odour, and reduced tartar and bad breath.
How are Fidelis products made?
Our products are made in FSSC 22000-certified facilities. The meat is gently cooked for a short time to eliminate pathogens, the vegetables are gently blanched, and the fruit, minerals and oils are added afterwards. The food is then rapidly frozen to preserve its nutrients. The result: healthy, flavourful, home-cooked-quality food with a high vital nutrient density, excellent acceptance and outstanding digestibility.
Which ingredients are used?
We use only selected food-grade ingredients sourced directly from local producers and farms. They are market-fresh and never industrially processed to extend shelf life, and production is food-safety certified. Our recipes are naturally simple – meat, offal, vegetables, fruit and quality oils – and our open declaration lists every ingredient individually, with no hidden industrial additives.
How do I know how much to feed my dog?
Daily feeding guidelines, as a percentage of body weight:
- Puppies up to 8 months: approx. 4.5%
- Dogs up to 15 kg: approx. 2.5–3%
- Dogs over 15 kg: approx. 2.5–3%
Example: a 20 kg dog fed 2.5% of its body weight needs 500 g of food per day.
These values are guidelines for normally active, healthy, uncastrated dogs. Individual needs can vary by up to 50% depending on age, breed and activity level.
How is my order shipped?
Fresh Menus in jars arrive in protective packaging of six jars each. The minimum order is six jars, then multiples of six (6, 12, 18, 24 …). Unopened, the Fresh Menus keep for at least one year. Once opened, store in the fridge and use within 3–4 days.
What is the difference between the frozen Fresh Menus and the Fresh Menus in jars?
Both are made exclusively from high-quality fresh ingredients from food production: pure muscle meat and healthy offal, fresh vegetables and fruit, selected oils and herbs in a carefully balanced ratio, gently cooked – without artificial additives, preservatives, flavour enhancers or attractants.
The difference: the menus in jars are briefly heated to 100°C to eliminate pathogens (sterilisation). Because the meat has already been gently steamed, the sterilisation time is much shorter than for conventional canned food, so the nutrients are retained just as well as in the frozen menus. Only the heat-sensitive B vitamins are slightly reduced, which is no problem for healthy dogs on a varied diet. The frozen menus are slightly drier; the menus in jars are slightly moister.
Can I switch from the frozen Fresh Menus to the Fresh Menus in jars at any time?
Yes – you can switch at any time without any adjustment problems. It is the same product.
