When is my dog considered a senior?
For dogs, an old dog is not defined by the exact number of years, but by specific signs of aging:
- Worn-out teeth
- Sluggish bowel function
- Reduced taste sensitivity
- Less active
- Signs of wear on joints and bones
- Weakened immune system
- Gray fur
- Hearing impairment / vision problems
As a preventive measure, it is advisable to start feeding your dog with biologically appropriate and varied nutrition using FIDELIS from middle age, in order to avoid age-related characteristics as much as possible. It's also a fact that dogs that have been fed commercial pet food throughout their lives often suffer from heart, kidney, liver, or thyroid diseases, as well as diabetes or obesity, at an early age.

The FIDELIS Senior Vitamin and Mineral Booster provides aging and old dogs with all the vitamins and minerals they need for a balanced metabolism. Our booster contains:
Calcium from algae lime is easily absorbed and does not burden the metabolism; it ensures strong bones and supports muscle function, which often declines in older dogs.
Seaweed and yeast provide essential minerals and enzymes. High Vitamin C content from rose hip shells additionally supports firm connective tissue and a strong, natural immune system.
Biologically active, pure collagen peptides support joint cartilage. The gingerols naturally present in ginger optimize joint functions and help with musculoskeletal problems.
L-carnitine from carrots, a natural substance, promotes energy supply to the heart and every cell in the body.
FOS = Fructooligosaccharides from chicory act as prebiotic bioregulators and strengthen the physiological gut flora, which can become unstable in older dogs.
OPC = oligomeric proanthocyanidins from grape seed meal are natural antioxidants that can neutralize harmful free radicals and protect at the cellular level.
