What makes the Fresh Menus in a jar so special?

Our menus are gently steam-cooked and then sterilized in the jar. This helps preserve vitamins and flavor – without artificial binders, preservatives, or residues like those found in metal cans.

How does the preparation work?

Simply open the jar, pour it into the bowl, and serve. No cooking required.

Why glass instead of a can?

Glass is taste-neutral, leaves no metal or coating residues, is recyclable, and can be resealed. Plus, the menus smell fresh – without that typical unpleasant canned food odor.

How long do the menus last?

Unopened, the menus remain fresh for several months thanks to the gentle preservation process in glass. You can find the exact best-before date on the label.

How should I store opened jars?

Close the jar again, store it in the refrigerator, and use the contents within 2–3 days. Thanks to the glass, the smell in your fridge stays pleasantly neutral.

How is shipping handled?

The jars are shipped in special protective packaging via standard delivery.

How much food does my dog need?

We recommend 2–3% of body weight per day. A 20 kg dog receives about 400–600 g per day. You can find details in the “Feeding Recommendation.”

How long does it take to switch to the Fresh Menus?

Transition slowly over 5–7 days. This allows your dog’s digestive system to adapt optimally to the new food.

Fresh Menu • Beef with Sweet Potato, Apple & Broccoli

Our Fresh Menu with Beef, Sweet Potato, Apple & Broccoli is crafted with care, using only food-grade fresh ingredients in our own purpose-built pet kitchen. We start with a robust blend of high-quality beef muscle meat and nutrient-rich beef offal, which is slowly and gently steam-cooked at a low temperature.

We then blend in sweet potato, carrot, peas, broccoli, apple, courgette, spinach, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds, along with brewer’s yeast, algae oil, algae powder, rosehip shells, seaweed powder, and rosemary. This careful, low-temperature process ensures both the rich, savoury flavour and vital nutrients are preserved at their best.

The result?
A wholesome, hearty meal that looks and tastes like home-cooked food. It provides complete and balanced nutrition directly from the original, fresh ingredients. This robust recipe is an excellent source of high-quality protein and iron, supporting energy and vitality, while broccoli and spinach add powerful natural antioxidants.

What exactly is gently cooked food? Quite simply, it's better food for your dog! Our cooked menus are all made with high-quality, fresh ingredients sourced from the food industry: pure muscle meat and healthy offal, fresh vegetables and fruits, selected oils and herbs, along with a digestible, healthy source of carbohydrates (rice or sweet potato). We carefully balance these ingredients to create complete meals for a species-appropriate, varied, and easily digestible diet for your dog.

We consistently avoid artificial additives, preservatives, flavour enhancers, and attractants. Fresh meat and offal are gently cooked at 90°C, while vegetables and fruits are only blanched to preserve heat-sensitive natural minerals and vitamins.

High-quality oils and natural ingredients like rosehip powder, seaweed meal, brewer's yeast, and algae lime are added to the menu in the final step. Fidelis Fresh Menus are unique and simply put, "Better Food" for your dog! We cook for your dog just like you would at home.

Fidelis Fresh Menus are thus absolutely unique and simply put: "Better Food" for your dog! We cook for your dog just like you would at home.

Disadvantages of other types of food

What are the disadvantages of other types of dog food compared to the cooked fresh menus from Fidelis?

Extruded/Cold-Pressed Dry Food::
Almost always made with a significant amount of grains, animal meals, and hardened fats. Fresh ingredients like meat, offal, and vegetables are used in very small quantities or not at all. The extrusion or cold pressing process heats the product to very high temperatures, destroying most remaining nutrients and minerals.

- Vitamins and minerals are artificially added.
- Dry food often contains preservatives and attractants.

Wet Food/Canned Food::
Most manufacturers use low-quality meat and slaughter by-products, plant by-products, and artificial additives for can production. Fresh ingredients like meat, offal, and vegetables are used in very small quantities or not at all. The sterilization process in autoclaves during canning heats the food to a temperature of 110–140°C, resulting in the loss of a large portion of nutrients and minerals.

-Vitamins and minerals are artificially added.
-Canned food often contains preservatives and attractants.

B.A.R.F. (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food):
The concept of feeding dogs biologically appropriate raw food, including meat, offal, vegetables, and fruits, has merit. However, raw, untreated B.A.R.F. products can be a significant problem. They are often contaminated with a high number of germs and bacteria, which can lead to intolerance or digestive difficulties for the dog and pose serious health risks for the owner during thawing and preparation. Enterobacteria and E. coli bacteria can cause severe health problems in both dogs and humans. The protein content in B.A.R.F. menus is often too high, leading to health problems in many dogs.

Daily Feeding Guide

This guide provides a starting point for the amount of food to feed your dog daily.

Puppies up to 8 months: approximately 4% of body weight
Dogs up to 15 kg: approximately 2-3% of body weight
Dogs over 15 kg: approximately 2-2.5% of body weight

Example: A 20 kg dog with a recommended daily allowance of 2% would need 400g of food per day (20 kg * 2% = 400g).

Please Note:
These are guidelines for healthy, active, non-neutered dogs. Individual needs may vary by up to 50% based on age, breed, or activity level.
Adjust the amount of food based on your dog's individual needs to maintain a healthy weight.

Transitioning to Fidelis

Fidelis recommends switching your dog's food immediately. Skip one meal (preferably in the evening) and start with our food at the next meal. Feed a single flavour for the first 14 days to allow your dog's stomach to adjust. After two weeks, you can alternate between different flavours.

Delivery & Storage

Our fresh menus in a glass are delivered to you in protective packaging with 6 glasses each. For this reason, the minimum order quantity is 6 glasses and then always 6 more. Our fresh menus in glass have a shelf life of at least 1 year. After opening, we recommend storing the menus in the refrigerator and using them within 3-4 days.
